IOF congratulates Taunton's Musgrove Park Hospital (UK) for achieving gold-standard recognition for their exemplary Fracture Liaison Service (FLS). This FLS is just one of 208 FLS featured on the Capture the Fracture® (CTF) Map of Best Practice, with 79 gold, 73 silver, and 39 bronze standard FLS recognized to date.

Exemplary SEIOMM-UFO programme to improve secondary fracture prevention in Spain

In Norway, World Osteoporosis Day TV interview highlights need for FLS

As a date when media interest is focused on osteoporosis, World Osteoporosis Day (October 20th) is an ideal occasion to put fracture prevention and Fracture Liaison Services in the news.

Here’s a great example from Norway, where May-Britt Stenbro, Osteoporosis Coordinator and Project Nurse in NoFRACT at the Drammen Hospital and Orthopaedic surgeon Dr. Frede Frihagen at Oslo University Hospital, were featured in an extended interview on TV2’s  ‘Good Morning Norway’.

Participants at instructive Capture the Fracture® FLS workshop in St. Petersburg were enthusiastic and engaged, reflecting the growing interest in Fracture Liaison Services (FLS) in the region.

Capture the Fracture’s first FLS on-site mentorship

On-site visit at the University Hospital of St. Etienne’s FLS is a great success, provides new insights, tailored advice and inspiration. 

Earlier in the year, Capture the Fracture® announced a new Mentorship programme to facilitate the transfer of knowledge and skills by connecting experienced Fracture Liaison Service (FLS)  ‘champions’ with clinics aiming to establish a new FLS. A central pillar of the programme is on-site training which allows an FLS candidate to benefit from a one-day visit at the FLS champion’s institution.
