FLS in activity since 20/03/2025, coordinated by the Rheumatology department of Unidade Local de Saúde da região de Leiria.

The FLS team includes 1 coordinating rheumatologist, 2 collaborating rheumatologists, 1 coordinating nurse and 1 collaborating nurse.

The first objetive of our FLS is to capture all hip-fractured patients hospitalized in othopedic wards, within the scope of our hospital. Over time, we intend  to progressively capture all fragility-fractured patients hospitalized in orthopedic wards and  all patients observed in the orthopedic emergency room due to osteoporotic fractures that do not require hospitalization.

Our final goal is to identify, evaluate and treat all patients who suffer an osteoporotic fracture, so we can minimize morbility and mortality related to Osteoporosis.
