Notably, its Case Mix Index (CMI), which reflects the technical complexity of treated cases and the hospital’s capacity to handle severe and challenging conditions, ranked 3rd in the country.
The Department of Orthopedics of Qilu Hospital of Shandong University, established in 1949, currently has seven specialties, including spinal surgery, joint surgery, traumatology, bone oncology, sports medicine surgery, hand and foot surgery, and pediatric orthopedics, and also has a sub-specialty in osteoporosis. The Central Hospital District, Qingdao Hospital District, and East Hospital District have a total of 587 beds officially open; the annual outpatient volume is more than 230,000; and the annual surgical volume is 16,000.
