Peking Union Medical College Hospital (PUMCH)

Peking Union Medical College Hospital (PUMCH) was founded by the Rockefeller Foundation in 1921. PUMCH has fostered many medical pioneers and masters in modern China. Currently, there are four campuses in PUMCH, with a total construction area of 610,000 square meters. PUMCH has more than 4,300 employees, 58 clinical and medical technology departments, and 29 national key clinical specialties. PUMCH offers over 2000 beds, handles over 58,000 surgical cases annually, and discharges over 100,000 patients each year.

The FLS team of PUMCH is mainly composed of the orthopedics department, the endocrinology department, the rehabilitation department and the radiology department. The primary tasks of the FLS team include the identification of brittle fractures, the treatment of fractures, the management of osteoporosis, the establishment of clinical databases, and patient education.

The FLS team of PUMCH is also dedicated to the nationwide promotion of Fracture Liaison Service in China. Under the advocacy and organization of Professor Weibo Xia, who is our team leader, over 100 hospitals across China have established the first national osteoporosis alliance (National Osteoporosis Alliance Hierarchical Healthcare System, NOAH; https://cnophp.egene.org.cn) and the first fragile fracture registration system in China (Chinese Osteoporotic Fracture Registration Network Platform, CORN; https://powerbone.egene.org.cn).
