Hopital Général
This FLS call “OS-FAIRE” exists for 5 years in your général hospital . In this FLS, we offer patients and their General Practitioners informations and advices on the interest of screening for osteoporosis and its treatment for the majority of patients coming to our hospital for a severe fracture or a wrist fracture.
Patient care takes place within a maximum of 12 weeks following their fracture.
Between 50 and 70% of patients benefit from a search for secondary osteoporosis. 70 to 90% of patients benefit from an assessment of their state of health and the risk of falls and advice on how to avoid them.
This sector also makes it possible to identify patients at particular high risk of recurrence and/or severe fracture and to direct them towards more advanced management with a check-up in a day hospital with a systematic vertébral fracture assessment.
Patients are recruited from the emergency and orthopedic surgery department for severe fractures.
We want to develop the service to reach patients with a wrist fracture earlier.
The data concerning the sector is kept locally
The FLS is coordinated by a nurse specialized in rheumatology and 3 Rhumatologists MD.
