St. Olavs University Hospital is localized in central Norway, in Trondheim city. The Hospital serves a population of approximately 317,000 inhabitants. The orthopaedic ward covers about 400 hip fractures annually - and - 2000 fragility fractures in total.
Fracture Liason Service in St.Olavs Hospital, directed and lead by Dr.Trude Basso, has been running since May 1st, 2015. We are part of The Norwegian Capture the Fracture Initiative, which is a cross-regional project called NoFract. St. Olavs University Hospital was the first hospital to introduce this standardized intervention program.
