Norrtälje Hospital

Norrtälje Hospital is a small countryside hospital serving 60 000 inhabitants from a vide area including thousands of small island along the shore. During spring to autumn up to 200 000 more people are staying in the district for recreational activities.

The FLS has been running since 2015 and handles all fragility fractures according to Capture the Fracture – Best Practice Framework – and serves eleven primary care units. Our FLS is a unit belonging to the geriatric department directed by a senior consultant in geriatric medicine and osteoporosis together with a head nurse acting as a coordinator. Both are also responsible for continuous ongoing development of the FLS.
