We are a group made up of Physiatrists, Orthopedists, Geriatricians, Rheumatologists and Clinicians, with assistants and residents of all those specialties. In addition, we have the support of Physiotherapists, Social Workers, Psychologists and Speech Therapists. Every Wednesday, we participate in a meeting of Geriatric group, which discusses all the patients who were hospitalized during the week, and we talk about surgical management, medication management and rehabilitation. Most patients already receive IV medication for osteoporosis and are referred for return to the Physiatry, in the "capture the fracture" vacancies. While still hospitalized, we ask for bone metabolism tests and renal condition, and, as soon as possible, they are referred for bone densitometry. They are guided by physical therapists regarding exercises and those who can do physical activity receive a link to a video made at the institution to follow online.
