Hospitalario Serena del Mar
Hospital Serena del Mar is a Level I Trauma Center located in the outskirts of Cartagena, Bolívar, serving an urban and rural population comprehending the Caribbean Coast of Colombia.
We count with an interdisciplinary group focused on the treatment of orthopaedic injuries in the elderly population, based on the principles of comanagement among the services needed by the patient: orthopaedic surgery, geriatrics, anesthesia, among others. Our main concern is the impact of fractures on patient's lifestyle and health, and preventing future fractures.
The Orthogeriatric Program is managed by Ana María Pardo, Geriatrician and specialist on education for health-care personnel, and Eduardo Burgos, Orthopaedic Surgeon and Fellow on Trauma Surgery.
