The First Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University, founded in 1957, is a comprehensive teaching hospital for medical treatment, teaching, research, and disease prevention. With one main and three branch hospitals, it boasts 44 clinical departments, 3938 beds, and 6931 staff. In 2019, it handled 3.68 million outpatient visits, discharged 154,200 patients, and performed 63,100 surgeries. It supports 24 teaching hospitals, helps 77 secondary/tertiary hospitals, and cooperates with 138 primary hospitals. Advanced equipment includes da Vinci Surgical Systems. The hospital excels in minimally invasive, interventional techniques, and organ transplantation. It's a pilot for cancer MDT and orthopedic ERAS. With 17 national key clinical specialties, it's approved for complex disease diagnosis, stroke prevention, and chest pain management. It runs 27 diagnosis centers and educates over 6,000 students annually, approved as a National Demonstration Center for Clinical Teaching.
