Fanlu Township Public Heaith Center
The Fanlu Health Center, located in the remote mountainous region of Chiayi County, Taiwan, serves as the primary provider of medical and health care services for the local population of approximately 10,000 residents.
This area is characterized by a significantly aging population, where osteoporosis and sarcopenia pose severe health threats. Recent large-scale screenings conducted by the center have revealed a notable prevalence of these conditions among residents. Further spinal imaging examinations have identified that over 40% of cases exhibit mild to moderate compressive fractures.
In response to these findings, the Fanlu Health Center has allocated additional resources to the Fracture Liaison Service (FLS). Physicians and nurses at the center have actively pursued advanced education and training in these specialized health issues, obtaining certifications as osteoporosis specialists and case managers. With enhanced medical expertise and a more comprehensive care model, the center strives to provide improved support and care for residents affected by these debilitating conditions.
