Hutt Valley Hospital
The Hutt Valley Fracture Liaison Service has been running since August 2022. This service is the first Fracture Liaison Service in the Wellington Region and there are plans a foot to expand regionally throughout the Greater Wellington region. This service provides support to a population of approximately 162,000 people living in the Te Awakairangi area - the Hutt Valley in southern part of the North Island of New Zealand.
The Fracture Liaison Service is closely affiliated with the Orthopaedic/Geriatric Department and manages all fragility fractures (including hip, inpatient and outpatient and vertebral fractures). We take pride in being one of the first FLS services in NZ to have prescribing capacity within the service supported by a Geriatrician,Nurse practitioner, Prescribing Pharmacist, and Clinical Nurse Specialist.
