In conservative treatment of osteoporotic vertebral fractures, determination of therapeutic effect of drugs is largely obstructed by varying level of the rest. To evaluate and control the non-weight-bearing periods has been shown to be effective in preventing collapse of vertebral body in the early stage of treatment of fresh vertebral fracture.

Kishikawa Orthopedic clinic has 19 beds, and provide the non-weight-bearing periods helped with nurse and physiotherapist, for the patients with fresh vertebral fractures. More than 50 patients with vertebral fractures were admitted as inpatients in a year. Almost 20 patients with femoral fracture were admitted after surgery in another hospital in a year.

I determine to administration of Teriparatides  for the patients with severe osteoporosis, when patients suffered from fresh vertebral fractures, I evaluate the effect by analyzing the time until to obtain bone-union , the morphological shape(collapseing rate), BMD(Hologic DEXA), and BMM(bone metabolism markers: TRACP-5b, ucOC/OC).

We have more than 200 outpatients everyday, and more than half of the patients are elder people with osteoporosis. More than 60 patients with wrist fractures, almost 10 patients with shoulder fracture were counted, and more than 3000 patients are medicated with drugs for osteoporosis in a year.
