The Second Affiliated Hospital and Yuying Children's Hospital of Wenzhou Medical University

The Second Affiliated Hospital and Yuying Children's Hospital of Wenzhou Medical University is a comprehensive, provincial-level tertiary hospital offering full lifecycle care for both adults and children. Established in 1976, it operates three main campuses: Longwan, Lucheng, and Oujiangkou, with the latter specializing in orthopedics and trauma. The hospital employs 5,141 healthcare professionals, including 754 senior technical professionals, and 285 postgraduate supervisors, including 41 doctoral advisors. It manages over 5 million outpatient visits, 400,000 inpatient admissions, and performs more than 100,000 surgeries annually. 

The Orthopedics Department, a key specialty, is one of the largest and most comprehensive in China, with 13 general wards, 1 day ward, 2 ICU wards, and approximately 700 beds. It includes eight major specialties and 20 subspecialties, handling over 300,000 emergency and outpatient visits and performing about 32,000 surgeries annually.

The Orthopedics Department collaborates with Endocrinology, Rheumatology, and Geriatrics Departments to focus on osteoporosis treatment and prevention. The hospital's Fracture Liaison Service (FLS) team, primarily led by the Orthopedics Department, identifies and follows up with osteoporosis patients. The hospital participates in the national osteoporosis prevention "Power Bone Program," managing data for over 800 local osteoporosis patients with informed consent for data sharing.
