Fracture liaison services of India initiated and sponsored by Indian Society of Bone and Mineral Research (ISBMR). Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education Research(PGIMER) , Chandigarh. Fracture liaison services initiated at Chandigarh from first may 2018 under supervision of Prof Sanjay Kumar Bhadada (secretary ISBMR,India).Total number of patients enrolled from Chandigarh is 92 and details of hip fracture are collected (from four major hospitals of Chandigarh namely PGIMER CHANDIGARH , MULTISPECIALITY HOSPITAL SECTOR 16 , GOVT. MEDICAL COLLAGE SECTOR 32 AND MAX HOSPITAL MOHALI. ) Out of 92 hip fractures 41 are male and 51 are female. The mean age of hip fracture in men was 72.9± 14.6yr and for women was 69.2± 9.7yr. The most common site of hip fracture was Intertrochanteric (n=43) followed by , neck of femur (n=38), Shaft of femur(n=9) , and acetabulum (n=2). The most common site of fall was home. The most common site in home was bathroom. On prospective follow-up at 3 and 6 months, 3 and 5 patients were died respectively. The cause of death was myocardial infarction, sepsis and sudden death. Currently we are recording only Patient details.
