Machida Keisen Hospital
The Osteoporosis Liaison Service (OLS) Committee of our hospital was set up in June 2019 and is currently operated by 14 staff members: 2 physicians, 5 nurses, 3 physical therapists, 1 registered dietitian, 1 pharmacist, 1 radiology technician, and 1 certified social worker. Our hospital has one board certified member of the Japan Osteoporosis Society (JOS) and six OLS Coordinators certified by the JOS and is actively engaged in fracture liaison service programs for secondary prevention of osteoporosis. Our hospital is also engaged in OLS programs for primary prevention of osteoporosis, including enlightening activities such as osteoporosis prevention lectures co-hosted with the Machida City Public Health Center, role in publication of Machida City’s public relations magazines, lectures in Minami-Machida Support Center for the Elderly, and presentations at academic conferences. As of June 2022, more than 1,000 patients with osteoporosis (on a medical-chart basis) visited our hospital, which now plays a central role in osteoporosis treatment in Machida, Tokyo, Japan.
