CtF Getting To Gold Train the Mentor Programme kicks off in Brazil

The Capture the Fracture® (CtF) programme continues to expand in Latin America, where on April 29th the first Getting to Gold programme in Brazil was launched with the start of 'Train the Mentor' online sessions.

The objective of the Train the Mentor Programme is to train a cadre of mentors who will acquire the knowledge, competence and performance to support the initiation and sustainability of effective and efficient Fracture Liaison Services (FLS) with a good patient experience. At the present time, there are 13 sites with FLSs with different scores in Brazil, along with 18 others that have just initiated the programme and are in the process of completing their enrolment. After completing the training, the mentors will work closely to help them to progress and further develop.

In Brazil, the programme will be structured in five online meetings with pre- and post-learning materials and tasks to complete, and a face-to-face meeting for final learning and evaluation with CtF Steering Committee. Mentors have access to an online library with resources and receive a two-year IOF Certification based on individual performance.

The five CtF mentors participating in the Getting to Gold programme are Dr Bernardo Stolnicki, Dr Karina Tutiya, Dr Luiz Tikle Vieira, Dr André Manoel Inácio and Dr Alana Meneses Santos.

IOF Latin America Regional Manager Monica Calo, stated:

We are so pleased to welcome these five committed experts to the programme. With their knowledge and support, we will provide much-needed guidance for new and existing FLS in Brazil. As more FLS strive for excellence, we hope to see significant improvements in patient care and secondary fracture prevention across the country.
