Christchurch Hospitals located in Addington, New Zealand, is a public hospital system with a network of three hospitals serving more than 600,000 people. The fracture liaison service is in the orthopedic medicine department and manages all fragility fractures (including hip, inpatient, outpatient and vertebral fractures). More than 1000 fracture patients are seen per year. The programme is led by Dr. N. L. Gilchrist who specializes in geriatrics.
